In several poems we notice bursts of tremendous poetic power. One thing that is admirable about this poetry collection is the energetic imagination and emotional intensity. Most important from the literary point of view, the style of the poet has a richness of effect that creates an enduring fascination.

When I admire the wonders of a sunset or the beauty of the moon, my soul expands in the worship of the creator.

In several poems we notice bursts of tremendous poetic power. One thing that is admirable about this poetry collection is the energetic imagination and emotional intensity. Most important from the literary point of view, the style of the poet has a richness of effect that creates an enduring fascination.

Jennifer Lagier's poem "Blood Moon Eclipse" is very thoughtful.

Fog cloaks the dark deed,
permits meager pearl glow
to escape from consumed lunar face.

Earth’s shadow advances,
tugs emotions off-kilter.
Planets realign; hidden faults shudder.

Celestial tsunami casts
impenetrable enigma over light,
Artemis assaulted, despoiled.

This poem portrays a dark and ominous scene, where the fog cloaks a dark deed, and the lunar face is consumed by shadows. The use of the word "meager" suggests that only a small amount of light can escape from the lunar face, adding to the sense of darkness and mystery.

The advancing shadow of the earth creates an emotional unease, pulling the reader's emotions off-kilter. The planets realigning and hidden faults shuddering add to the sense of disturbance and chaos in the scene.

The phrase "celestial tsunami" is particularly powerful, as it suggests a massive force that can overwhelm even the celestial bodies. The enigma cast over the light by the tsunami creates a sense of confusion and disorientation, as the reader struggles to understand what is happening. The image of Artemis being assaulted and despoiled adds a sense of violence and violation to the scene, heightening the sense of danger and darkness.

Overall, this poem creates a vivid and powerful scene, full of dark and unsettling imagery. It evokes a sense of foreboding and unease, leaving the reader with a lingering sense of mystery and uncertainty. Well done!

We look forward to seeing Jennifer's next book, and her continuing development as a poet. This collection of leaves no doubt in my mind that the poet is destined to become a powerful force in contemporary world poetry
