George Karos II offers up short language driven poems in this original new collection. His poems coexist nicely with one another ultimately complimenting each other in this passionate and harmonious display of poetry.
Karos’ poems have conscience. His poems are not written in a typical manner in that he takes the base of a poem and makes it his own composing highly nuanced but present lines.
“Further Away Than Here” explores a variety of themes such as time and being human and the poems reflect upon what seems to be personal observations or philosophical experiences. It employs natural images leading to personal introspection which creates an overall multifaceted collection. He creates an opportunity for seasoned poetry readers as well as new ones to embrace his view of poetical art in this determined collection.
Many poems seem to delve into self-discovery. Plus, there is a search for understanding and purpose.

From the poem “Life: What are We Here For?”:
“Life, what are we here for?
We must find a way
to answer this question
moment to moment
providing for ourselves

shelter and income
and the civility to pay debts”

Karos’ poems touch upon connection and disconnection among people. The poems also seem to delve into the impact and cyclical nature of every day experiences. The collection also grapples with life’s travesties, emotional confines, and navigating circumstances of any type.
He doesn’t employ gimmicks with his poems. He takes what he wants to write about and presents it in his voice within each verse.

From the poem “Anxiety Exists”:
“Anxiety exists unceasingly
circulating through realms”

Karos writes with certainty and authenticity.  His words in his poems will take root with readers. This is a collection you don’t want to miss!
