helicopters buzz
the metal whir of rotors
searching for pot crops

This haiku appears to be describing a scene where helicopters are searching for illegal marijuana crops. The "buzz" of the helicopters and the "metal whir" of their rotors create a sense of urgency and tension in the poem. The use of the word "pot" suggests that the crops being searched for are illegal or unlicensed, and the helicopters are likely part of a law enforcement operation. Overall, the it seems to convey a sense of conflict between authorities and those who grow marijuana illegally.

hairy sunflowers
spread to a huge colony
in this sandstone glade

This haiku paints a picture of a field of sunflowers that have grown in a sandstone glade, and have multiplied into a large colony. The use of the word "hairy" to describe the sunflowers adds a tactile dimension to the image, suggesting that the flowers are perhaps wild or untamed, with unruly petals or stems. The use of the word "colony" suggests that the sunflowers have not just grown in this location, but have actually taken over and spread extensively. Overall, the poem captures the beauty and vitality of nature, as well as the way that plant life can flourish and thrive even in challenging environments like a sandstone glade.

An interesting hiku book for all haku lovers.
