Letters of Intent - Paperback – January 2, 2022 by Nico Vassilakis (Author)
The book is divided into several different sections. The question is do the section titles suggest the art work letters that will follow or not? Another question the reader may ask, is there a message in the words and letters or not?

“Letters of Intent” is a very cool book put together with words and letters into artworks. It is a true sensory experience.
The book is divided into several different sections. The question is do the section titles suggest the art work letters that will follow or not? Another question the reader may ask, is there a message in the words and letters or not?
Sometimes artists see more than what’s really there. That in itself is certainly present in this book.
There’s so much to see on each page. I myself love words and thus letters and I do like art. To see art pieces made up of letters and words is a lot of fun and quite entertaining. I took my time with each page examining what was on it for several minutes at a time. Was there more there on the page than what I thought I saw? Were words hidden on the page? Were there meanings inside the art? Could I put the letters together to form words?
There is a mixture of colors used as well as pieces done in black and white. There is much thought in each creation.
My favorite section is the one entitled, or maybe not entitled “Letters are escaping.” The first piece in this section shows letters going down, maybe going across a long brick tunnel to indeed get out! But will they get out? Could they be trapped?
Several more interesting ways for letters to escape follow in pieces that show maybe railroad or subway tracks for the letters to get away on, and several jumbled up letters crossing or disappearing down what looks like a highway to me. It’s a fascinating immersion in such an original way to look at letters.
The appearance of the pieces seems almost like a combination of hand drawn letters and digital images. But, that’s simply what it looks like to me.
This is the type of book you’ll want to look at a few pages at a time, so that you can truly absorb the author’s creative vibe. It’s definately a book to keep out on your coffee table, your office cubicle, or kitchen counter to share with others.
This is a fantastic book. The author has giftedly put the visual in the words and letters instead of showing it with words.
For lovers of words, a beautiful journey into the letter arts awaits you. This is a rich and original visualization of letters and words.
