This poetry book is in five sections basically about masonry.  Militano’s poems have an other worldly yet present day feel.  He incorporates mythical tales and images bringing his poems to a dramatic life that feels like it takes place elsewhere.  From the poem “The Aqueduct”: “Half hour from Rome train station ancient stone arches appear in a / flat winter wheat field. In the distance are the outlines of dark blue / mountains under vague morning light. Collapsed and broken, the / aqueduct looks incomplete as if still under construction waiting for / the myths, masons and slaves to return.
