A Beagle, quite confident in himself who aspires to have a crown on his head is shown as the leading character in the latest Gonsalves’ storybook Illegal Beagle illustrated by Nelli Aghekyan. This illuminating chapbook is most suitable for those kids who look up to new humorous characters daily. The Beagle’s joyful character is quite pleasing and delights the reader, his notorious activities in the absence of his owner could be inspiring for the kids reading the book, but Sandra doesn’t forget to include the consequences of the misdeeds carried out by Beagle and makes it a warning signal for all the children. Confinement was so terrible for the poor Beagle that it made him lose his mind realized his mistake of misbehaving behind his owner’s back. Quite empathetic when Beagle gloomily cried out his plea!

Sara has added sarcastic elements dexterously throughout the book, as one would see the annoying, comical, hysterical and humoristic expressions given by the cat to whom not much of the significance has been given, but undoubtedly supports in framing a side-splitting scene. Most significantly, the eyes of the cat are usually pointed towards the reader depicting her sarcastic comments being conveyed to the reader without words. The magnificent illustrations contemplate the reader and make the read entertaining. Conclusively, a great book for the children and setting an example for the mischievous kids to avoid notorious activities and behave obediently as what happened with Beagle could occur with them, more or less the same. However, children are known to be as children because of their notorious activities not by their polite behavior.
