Evolve Paperback by Vijaya Gowrisankar

“The dreams return strong when I feel like I belong, the dreams return strong when shadows seem long” … I always have got fascinated by the word “Dream”.  Vijaya has so vividly captured the true essence of this word because I think, like everyone, she too believes that Dreams can come true if there is a willingness to pursue them.  I have always believed that Passion adds Life to our Lives and one of her Quotes say it – “Nourish and cherish your mind for it is the staircase to success, your hobbies infuse fresh air into your daily routine”.   How marvellous!

Her poems on Grief, There is a World I have opened myself to, Choose to Grow, Free to Breathe, Accepting the new Normal, Individual…a Part of a Whole, are some poems which the readers MUST READ.  I write this with a conviction that they have been written very thoughtfully and with utmost maturity.  Each word woven into a sentence depicts how very meaningful the poems are, and the more one reads them, the more hidden meanings come to surface.

Combinations of her poems with quotes have definitely added a new dimension to her poetry collection “EVOLVE”.  I marvel at the title of the book; it is so apt!  As humans, whether we like it or not we have to progress and evolve; isn’t it?  This collection of hers is all about finding one’s own strength and peace to march ahead.  Each and every poem and quotes are her masterful strokes which give an extremely important and underlying message to the readers – “to brush off, step up and rise in life”.  In other words, she seems to be leading her readers from darkness and ignorance towards light.  I liked her way of letting her readers know that there is more to Life than obstacles and failures.  A spiritual quotient indeed!

I feel honoured to have been asked to write a review, and would like to complete it with her exemplary words – “Every criticism is an opportunity to learn and improve, Hug the child inside you once in a while, you deserve your self-respect”.    I am sure her poems will give her readers lot of hope and positivity.

Here is wishing Ms. Vijaya Gowrisankar all the very best in her wonderful journey of penning down her thoughts.  Vijaya, may all your books travel far and wide and emerge as the bestsellers and top grossers.
