Goldmans’ new collection of poems unfolds into three sections of captivating craftsmanship. This is illustrated for instance in his poem “Art” with these lines:  “Each creation like a new day, / blank, and then a design all its own, / unfolding, unforeseen.”  Goldman exhibits his gift of art with his poems.

Goldman also delicately blends emotions and experiences into his thoughtful tapestry of poems.  Each one seems to capture a poignant snapshot of life, or a unique moment.

His poems ooze in the authentic and show a keen eye for detail.  The poems are complex, but still offer a diverse welcome and nuances of exploring a variety of subjects.

The collection is an assorted sampling of a spectrum of themes.  It is entirely relatable and a welcoming book of verse.

From the poem “Controlled Hallucinations”:

“I can’t know everything about you

without knowing every electron

in every star and every drop

of blood in every damp frog.”

These poems create vivid imagery and express so much.  Layers of meaning are embedded into each line.

Goldman structures his sections carefully balancing the observations while keeping the reader connected.  This helps to create a seamless flow of words and verses making this an expressive and immersive reading experience for the reader.

Goldman carefully constructs his poems.  He takes poetic exploration to a whole new level.

From the poem “Weekend Project: moving furniture”:

“It was your idea

to reconfigure rooms.”

Goldman’s poetry offers wonderful layers of relationships, everyday life, poetical advice and so much more.  There is much to discover amongst these pages.

He is able to summon all the senses.  He is able to invite the reader in and make them feel at home.
